General Features

Web Space

The amount of space you will have available to you to store your web site files. Web site files are usually compressed so they are rather small. Your web space is monitored and you will be able to see how much space you have left in your Plesk Control Panel.

If you come close to your limit our system will automatically email you. You are capable of upgrading at any time. If you do go over please keep in mind you will be charged an overage fee outlined here.

Monthly Transfer

Your monthly transfer is how much data is transferred to and from your web hosting account in any given month. Your transfer is monitored and you will be able to see how much you have used in your Plesk Control Panel (see below).

Plesk Control Panel

The Plesk Control Panel is one of leading Windows Web Server user panels on the market. It allows you to manage your web sites and files easily within your browser. And it allows us to keep track of server resources and usage.

Plesk allows you to control every aspect of your hosting account including your password, files and directories, databases, and much more.

Windows Server 2008

Windows Server 2008 is the latest version of Microsoft Window's server operating systems. Providing the most secure Windows operating system to date.

Dedicated Applicaiton Pool

Your web applicaitons will run in their own dedicated application pool. Meaning that application memory for all web sites are seperated and isolated from eachother. This provides you with better security, performance, and stability. If one web site crashes, then only that web site will go down, and will not bring down the whole server.

Sub-Accounts

A sub-account allows you to host isolated folders for different users. These sub-accounts do not support their own domains, and will share all of your accounts limits. Each sub-account comes with their own private username, password, and space. A sub-account may be found at a URL such as: www.yourdomain.com/~subaccount We do not recommend nor condone selling sub-accounts. These should be used solely as a way to allow members of your organization or business their own web space.

Additional FTP Accounts

All plans come with one FTP account. Additional FTP accounts may be available to allow you to share read/write access to all of the files located in your hosting account.

Scripts Supported

Server Side Includes (SSI)

Server Side Includes allow you to include other HTML documents inside another HTML document. This allows you to have, for example, your web site's navigation menu in one file, and then you may include the menu file into all your pages. Allowing you to update your menu by only modifying one file, instead of all your pages.

It is very simple to use, and it is a great feature to have for any web site.

PHP Version 4.x or 5.x

PHP stands for "Hypertext Preprocessor" and is an open-source server side language. We allow you to have either PHP version 4.+ or 5.+ installed to your hosting account. Please specify when ordering. PHP provides you with dynamic web site applications. Such as forums, image galleries, blogs, and guest books. They both allow you to develop your own custom applications.

Classic ASP; and ASP.NET 2.0

ASP stands for "Active Server Pages" and is Microsoft's server side language rivaling PHP.

Classic ASP is the first three versions of ASP and is the easiest to use. While it is not used much now-a-days we support it and it is available to you. ASP.NET is the new version of ASP and it allows object oriented programming.

Both Classic ASP and ASP.NET are server-side languages, which provide you with dynamic web site applications. Such as forums, image galleries, blogs, and guest books. They both allow you to develop your own custom applications.

Perl and CGI-bin

Perl and a private CGI-bin is available depending on your plan. Perl and CGI are older server side languages that were created long before ASP or PHP.

If you do not know what they are, then you will most likely not need them.

Components Supported

CDO SMTP Ready

CDO is a Windows Server component that allows you to send email using SMTP.

In other words, all hosting accounts will be able to use CDO to send automatic emails from their web site. Such as contact forms, notice emails, and sign up confirmations.

Abuse, due to spamming, will result in instant account closure without refund. We DO NOT allow the sending of bulk, mass, or marketing emails from our servers.

GD2 Library Enabled

The GD library allows PHP to dynamically generate images including more than just JPEGs. This library has been enabled for your use on all our hosting accounts.

ASPUpload

ASPUpload is a server component designed to be used with ASP and ASP.NET. It allows your web site to take file uploads and then move, rename, or delete files.

ASPJpeg

ASPJpeg is a server component designed to be used with ASP and ASP.NET. It allows your web site to dynamically load JPEG images by combining images together to create a new JPEG image. It also may be used with ASPUpload to upload images and automatically thumbnail them.

Databases

MySQL Database

MySQL is an open source, yet very powerful database engine. MySQL allows for unlimited connections at a time, it is scalable, and has high performance. You will be able to gain full control of your MySQL databases using PHPMyAdmin available through your Plesk Control Panel. You do not need more than one database, however some plans provide you with more than one. One database can support unlimited applications.

Your MySQL quota is the max amount of disk space all of your MySQL databases may use. You will be able to specify how much each database may use in your Plesk Control Panel.

ODBC Connections

You may use ODBC connections to connect to Microsoft Access Databases securely. In other words you may store your Access database in a private folder and use an ODBC connection to connect to it and be used with your web application.

Access databases do not allow more than a few connections at a time, and are very prone to corruption. We advise using MySQL if at all possible.

Microsoft SQL Database

We provide Microsoft SQL 2005 depending now on all our hosting plans. Microsoft SQL 2005 provides all the functions and features of MySQL and then some. MS SQL is much more stable than MySQL and has better recovery capabilities. Due to the extensive resource consumption of MS SQL, it will cost more than MySQL.

Dedicated Microsoft SQL Database hosting is available if you require resource intensive database usage.

You will have full control over your MS SQL databases using the secure Web Interface through your Plesk Control Panel. The Web Interface allows you to easily edit any table, change any record, and update any data field.

Your MS SQL quota is the max amount of disk space all of your MS SQL databases may use. You will be able to specify how much each database may use in your Plesk Control Panel.

Protected URLs

Plesk Control Panel allows you to protect files and folders, which allows you to restrict access to sections of your web site without the need of web scripts.

This service is perfect if you wish to create a "members only" section of your website.

Hotlink Protection

Plesk Control Panel allows you to also prevent other web sites from leeching your images by hotlinking them from your hosting account. Hotlinking steals your monthly transfer. If you are running low on monthly transfer we recommend enabling this option. You may specify which file-types should be protected, and which web sites may hotlink your files (if any).

Web Application Vault Protection

We now provide a Web Application Vault to all our hosting plans which allows you to easily install a web application with just a few clicks of a button! You will find the Web Application Vault in your Plesk Control Panel.

Webilizer Web Stats

We now provide comprehensive web site statistics using the Webilizer log file analyzer. You will be able to see your web site traffic based on the month, day, or hour of the day. Also includes statistics on which page is viewed the most, which page visitors enter on or exit from, and the most used keywords used to find you from search engines.

Custom Error Documents

You may create custom error documents, which means you can customize how your 404 error pages (page cannot be found), or 500 error pages (internal script error).

This service will allow you to provide a more customized user experience by allowing your web site design to appear on all your error pages.

Backup/Restore Functions

The Plesk Control Panel allows you to Backup your entire hosting account and the ability to restore your hosting account back to the previous backup. This will allow you to save a "snap-shot" of your account incase you get hacked or files get deleted. You may not download your backup off the server; to do this you would need to manually FTP a copy of all files off the server.

We will backup the servers once a month incase of a major problem. It is always your responsibility to have a backup of your data on your personal community (off the server).

Task Scheduling

Depending on your plan, you are capable of running a chronological script. In other words, you are able to have a script run at a set time of the day, on a hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Basic Email Hosting

You are able to setup individual email boxes at yourdomain.com. These mail boxes may be used by separate members of your organization or business to present an official message from your website.

Every mail box must use a proportion of the share the total mail quota provided to your hosting account. Additional space may be upgraded.

Our email service may be downloaded into your favorite mail client, such as Outlook or Thunderbird, or any other client that supports POP3.

SmarterMail Webmail

We now provide SmarterMail Webmail, a professional webmail solution. Features include: clean, easy-to-use web interface, custom folders, address book, calendar, online notes, rich text editor, built in spell check, and more. In summary, this functions like Outlook but online and completely mobile!

Domain Management

DNS zone Management

You will be able to manage your sub-domains, domain aliases, and other DNS settings through your Plesk Control Panel.

If you have your DNS hosted elsewhere many features may not be available by default. You will need to match both DNS records on our servers and your external server.

Sub-Domains

A sub-domain allows you to create a separate URL within your hosting account. This does not give seperate controls, limits, nor features. It merely allows you to have a distinct URL point to its own folder as a seperate web site.

An example of a sub-domain would be: http://subdomain.yourdomain.com

Domain aliases

A domain aliase allows you to point more than one domain to the same web space. So if you registered both yourdomain.com and yourdomain.net you could create an alias for one of them to use both.

We are pleased to provide you with 99.9% uptime. However we do need to take our servers offline to perform operating system updates which may result in a few hours of downtime every once and a while. We try to bring the servers down in the middle of the night Sunday morning, to avoid interruption during peak hours.

24/7 Email support is available to all customers at no additional rate, however we may not be able to respond immediately. Please allow anywhere from 2 to 6 hours for a response.
